When I started reading on the internet about how the streets of Boleslawiec, Poland, are lined with store after store of Polish Pottery, I found that hard to believe. Here in Atlanta Georgia, the only Polish Pottery I have found in stores is random pieces at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s. So I will confess, my initial and primary motivation for traveling to Boleslawiec, Poland, was to find Polish Pottery. And find Polish Pottery, I did. Boleslawiec is a true “Polish Pottery Paradise” with store after store of Polish Pottery literally stacked floor to ceiling. But on my trip to Boleslawiec, I also found so much more.

As I first thought about traveling to Boleslawiec, I searched tour

books and the internet for any scraps of information I could find. I was also intrigued by a couple of web sites chronicling the personal adventures of Americans to Boleslawiec.
